I'm having a baby shower/my mom is throwing me one in May, (I sent out invites at the end of February) she's already rented out a place and we have it all planned out. The issue is, the majority of my family lives 4 hours away (they're in CT I'm in NY) and they're now suddenly telling me I should drive down (at around 31+wks pregnant) and throw a separate baby shower for them because they're not gonna come to the one up here. My mom and I drive down there several times a year to participate in their events and never ask them to come up here. My own brother flies there from Florida and we drive down to see him. If they don't want to make the drive, that's their prerogative, even though it makes me a bit sad; but it makes me perturbed that they're insisting I have a separate one for them. Are these just my pregnancy hormones? My mom thinks we should do it but my SO agrees with me. Either way I'm not going to do it because I'm not gonna travel so far from my home and trusted hospital so far into my pregnancy, but I wanted other people's input on this, have you ever done something like this yourself? Or has your family asked you to? No hate pls
