(TW) should people who abuse others have to register like sex offenders do?

With sexual offenders they have to register on the SOR (it's public and you can see exactly what crime they committed.) In depth my question is, do you think people who abuse others (like domestic abuse or child abuse) should have to register so they can't hide what they have done from the public or does this seem unfair?

Those registers aren’t public information. You need to have a valid reason to have access, and the most you can do is enquire about a person or see how close you live to one. 
But I voted yes anyway.

In an ideal world YES however as someone else stated there can be false reports and as stated men usually get the short end of the deal and are seen as the predators etc. So I don't believe that it would work.
But like the sex registry people can be falsely put on that too or be on it for incidents that aren't actually crimes for example 2 underage teens sleeping together can put someone on the registry if charges are filed etc.

Personally I don’t think so just bcs I think often men get the short end of the stick on this, my sister ex husband is seen as a woman beater but she beat on him consistently their entire marriage. Now he is the one that has to carry the charges tho bcs the judge sided with my sister.

I do not believe in putting someone on a sex offender registry if their crime is not related to sex.  Most people who see a name in the registry will automatically assume it’s sexual in nature when it could have been something as small as slapping someone.  Also there are very serious measures that you have to take once your on that list such as not living within a certain distance of schools.  Also think about how most people in the list aren’t allowed to be around children, should you be labeled a sex offender cause you beat someone up and now you can’t take your child to school or any youth activity?  No, there should be another database to add them to other than the sex offender one for non sexual crimes.  I think that they should be held accountable for their actions but it’s needs to be appropriate to the crime committed.
