Induced???

Question

Can someone request to be induced if they have no complications or anything? Just request to be induced for other reasons such as to make sure dad is there and off work in time and that you’re there while giving birth if your doctor is a bit away from where you live?

My last baby my OB gave me the choice of induction at 39 weeks. No medical problems. But I’m delivering this baby at a different hospital and they won’t induce before 40 weeks unless medically necessary. It all depends on your OB/hospital.

Depends on the OB/hospital policy. Where I work, we will induce after 39w depending on the situation. Before that you have to have a medical reason.

As last comment says, depends on the hospital. Our hospital won’t induce without medical cause before 40 weeks because it can stress your body and baby. So they don’t do it without cause.

You can always ask but it really depends on Ob/ Hospital. My Hospital won't induce before 41 weeks unless there's a medical reason. So I was induced at 41 weeks exactly.
