Broke Up with a guy for the first time

He was great when we were in the unofficial stage. We texted all day, had calls at night and hung out when we could. But as soon as we started officially dating it was a downhill decline. He started not keeping his word and hardly ever talking to me. I tried to talk to him and explain that I just wanted him to text me more or at least a “hey babe I’m busy today” message. But he wouldn’t listen or come to an agreement with me. He just kept saying sorry and that he didn’t want to argue. Then he disappeared from the chat and didn’t reply to me for days. I eventually asked him if he was mad and he just claimed he didn’t want to argue then started to ignore me for even more days. I really liked him as a person but I gave up. I tried to talk to him but he wasn’t having it. I don’t feel like I was asking for much out of him.
