Anyone Else Have To Do Iron Transfusion?

I’m anemic and the doctors are having me take 65mg (325mg Ferrous Sulfate) over the counter supplements with my prenatal.

I’ve taken them daily, never missed a day. On Friday, April 5th, I went in for my glucose test. Blood drawn and given a TDap.

Today, my doctor calls and tells me that my glucose test came back normal, however my anemia has worsened and will need to schedule an appointment at this cancer center that works with hemoglobin or whatever to get an iron transfusion via IV.

Anyone else have to go through this? How’d you feel? Heard it causes a lot of side effects as it is being absorbed quickly by your body when using IV and those who has taken iron supplements orally know the side effects of them alone when it’s being absorbed slowly.
