Having children in the delivery room
I'm 28 weeks with baby #2 and the thought of having my daughter (3.5yo) in the room with us during delivery has been on my mind lately. Before I had kids, I was 100% against it, but now that we will be welcoming our last child in a few short weeks, the thought of having my family complete and together just after delivery is important to me. I want my daughter to be one of the first to meet her brother.
I wouldn't expect her to be right there in the action but knowing my daughter was there with us would be comforting to me. My sister has already offered to sit with her in the delivery room and (let's face it) she'll probably be so engrossed in her tablet, she wont even be aware of what's going. My sis was already planning to be with my girl in the waiting room so either way my daughter will be at the hospital. When I approached my husband with this idea, he didnt seem excited about it but wasn't immediately against it either. I havent mentioned it to anyone else or asked their opinion so I thought I would ask here because it would be unbiased.
Have any one you had your other child(ren) in the delivery room with you? Would you reccomend it or recommend against it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
