Baby J

Crystal

For those of you who have ready my other posts you know I have been on bedrest since 30 weeks. Well I delivered my first baby boy on 4/9/19. I was induced at 6:15 on 4/8/19 and after only 2 hours of my second dose of the cervix pill my water broke! This was a shock to all of us because my cervix was high, unfavorable, and at 0! Well once my water broke contractions started right away. I handled them and was against an epidural, then as they got worse the next day when the Pitocin was started my BP also went up. So it was either magnesium or the epidural. I got the epidural about 10 am. Around 2 dr came in and I was at 8. Those last two cm were killer! I started pushing at 4:10 and dr said, there is no way lady, your pelvis is too small for this kiddo. So my choice was quit or to keep trying. I pushed for 2 1/2 more hours and my epidural only worked on my right side now. Once I got baby’s head down dr said I needed help, and got the vacuum out. I did not think I was a loud person but holy crap the pressure that creates with only 1/2 working epidural I was very vocal! After 9 pushes of everything I had left baby was out! They immediately rushed baby to the nicu. Here I sat getting over 20 stitches and I had not even seen my baby boy! At 37 weeks and with the two rounds of steroids he still needs help breathing. He is on cpap and doing well, I got to see him a few hours later but we are still not able to hold him.

Thank you for all of your support ladies over this crazy journey. Now to let the healing of third degree tears heal and make sure my little man knows he is not fighting alone!
