23+3 today and we just hired a hypnobirthing therapist and a Bradley method doula today!

We got some happiness halting news yesterday that if I require a cesarean I’ll need to be put under general anesthesia because I cannot have anything done to my spine (which can be very dangerous for the baby) and will also not be able to breastfeed for at least a week because I cannot have morphine or morphine based post surgery drugs, which unfortunately are the only BF approved post surgery meds.

As a result I was understandably super worried and neurotic about it all, but after talking to my midwife and a childbirth educator friend I’ve decided that our best chance at a surgery and medication free birth is education and preparation. I start tomorrow and I’m pretty excited. I can’t imagine missing the birth entirely under general anesthesia so I’m going to remain hopeful 🤞🤞🤞🤞
