In area where weather effects school days, should there be a system or program where students can log in and print out their school work?

I was scrolling through my IG and one of the commentary channels I follow was showing us how her deck is filled with snow and school is cancelled. It got me thinking, instead of extending the school year into the summer to make up for missed days, should there be some kind of system or portal parents and students can log on to in the event of weather affecting school days so they can get their work for the day?

Let’s assume this portal can be logged into from any computer (u just need your student ID number) , so in the event of a student not having internet at home they can easily get it from a friend or library etc this portal can also be used in case the child misses school for like a cold or something. (Or do they already do this?)
