Is it weird for men to be at baby showers?

My fiancé will be there obviously, and I honestly do not care about the genders of our guests as long as everyone I love is there. But my dad is saying he doesn’t want to go because it’s weird going to a baby shower as a man 🙄 did you ladies have any men at your baby showers other than your significant others?

I had quite a few guys there...the men in my family and my husband’s friends all came. It’s a new day and men are so much more involved in child rearing so I don’t see it as weird at all.

I’ve been to showers that were all women and then showers that are a mix. I think the old school way was women only, so I could see why your dad doesn’t think it’s a place for him. I don’t think I’d get my dad to mine either. Lol

Thank you for making this thread cuz all of my husband’s coworkers are telling him it’s a female thing! I don’t want it to just be all women (I don’t even know that many, or even like that many) I want everyone to be included.

The shower with my first was co-ed and the men pretty well spent all their time outside. It wasnt enjoyable for them. This time around, I asked that my shower be ladies only (no men, no kids.) I think its strictly a personal preference as far as co-ed showers. If your dad isnt comfortable, dont pressure him. Thats what happened with my husband. I demanded he be at our first shower and he hated it.

Mine was co Ed. My grandma said “ baby showers are for women “ but when I told him everyone would be there he came. I get it because back in the day they WERE mostly just women. Sometimes people just need a reminder that times have changed lol.

We did a jack & Jill shower for our wedding & baby showers! We called the baby showers baby-ques because we bbq’d 😊

My dad came to both of mine and took pictures. It was wonderful to have him there and giving him a "task" helped him feel like he had a reason to be there. None of my guests were bothered by his (or my husband's) presence.
