I have had about 10 therapists throughout my life due to my traumatizing childhood and how it has affected my adulthood. They all knew I had abandonment issues and that was because everytime I would get close to someone, they would leave including my parents. Yet they end up doing the same to me. All of them except one has moved away after 1 to 2 months of knowing me, and as soon as I feel like I can trust them, they drop the bombshell that they are moving and won't be able to contact me anymore. At least my current one lasted 7 months before telling me she's moving. Like geez. I've known people who've had the same therapist for 5 years. I can't even keep one a year. This last one was the most effective and my favorite by far. They range from really young to old, but somehow I always enter their life as a client whenever they're about to move or are planning on moving sometime within the year. Just my luck I guess. I'm not mad at my therapist because they have lives and have to move for different situations. I'm mad at the circumstances and that many of them took me on knowing I had abandonment issues beforehand while also knowing they were about to move or planning to to a different town and not telling me until I started to trust them.
