4/13 non medicated-birth story

I went to my 39+5 appt on the 12th and was already dilated 5cm. I started having contractions that evening at 7 and decided to head to the hospital at 11 to be sure I wouldn’t have a baby in the car. I opted to go medication free for as long as possible, i walked and bounced my way to 8 cm dilated till I was on the verge of giving in. I was told if they broke my water she would be out within minutes or get epidural first then move forward. I thought I can handle anything for a few minutes, right? The contractions were already on top of each other and I was a crying mess so I went with my first option . They broke my water and after 10 unimaginable painful minutes later I had my baby girl!

My nurse played in a big part helping me stick to my birth plan and coaching me through (even while I was hysterical)

This was my second successful VBAC and first without epidural.
