Is your SO the person you envisioned?

Is your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband/partner etc. the person that you thought you would end up with? 
I’ve only had one boyfriend and we been dating for five years. He is nothing like the person I imagined I would be dating. He likes to hang out in gym clothes- I like to get dressed up occasionally. I think manners, especially table manners are extremely important, he is more laid back. I always envisioned myself with someone with a button up shirt that goes out and plays golf (like my Dad and cousins). My boyfriend is in the Army and likes to work on trucks and doesn’t know the first thing about the latest news in baseball or doesn’t think about a nice dinner party with friends with a nice bottle of wine etc. 
Now I’m sure I’m not what he imagined either...But, I’m happy and the qualities that I “thought/think” he should have that he lacks, makes up in other ways where he is extremely thoughtful and meaningful. So I could have the person I imagined and be miserable, or have someone who absolutely adores and loves me who is more laid back. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My husband is everything I’ve ever wanted in a relationship ! He’s college educated, intelligent, adventurous, his personality is addicting, he has a great sense of humor, he’s very motivational, financially stable and financially smart, outgoing, loves to try new things, handsome, fun, loving, and an amazing father! I couldn’t ask for anything more! He surprises me with gifts and jewelry, we go to the park with our child together, we do many things together! He’s an amazing family man! ❤️❤️❤️

I guess growing up I wanted like a proper business man. My ex fiancé was the opposite of that (pot smoking hipster, blue collar worker) I’ve dated all over the board since I left my ex including business men and engineers like I thought I’d end up with. My boyfriend now is the best man I’ve ever been with. He’s an electrician, has long hair (I was never attracted to men with man buns until now), eats organic, lives in the middle of nowhere and roughs it a lot. He’s not what I thought I’d want to end up with. We met online and I honestly did not think I’d like him as much as I do. We talked the first night and he asked me to lunch the next day and I was kind of like okay fine 🙄 but then we had the best date and have been glued together since. The dates I doubt the most seem to be the ones I stick with the longest

My husband is more than I imagined. My serious relationships before him were abusive, so I just wanted a guy who treated me right. And I can honestly say I got more than that. I mean I really just hit the Jackpot lol.

He meets everything I'd ever wanted in a man. But is he for say WHO I thought  I would end up with. Hell to the no.  He was my beat friend for 2 years and we used to swear wed never date but I couldnt be happier.

Do you remember making those check lists in health class of your ideal mate. Yeah, I had my list and thought this is stupid. Dated around and about 10 years later I realized I had no idea what I was doing or what I wanted. Finally I met my now husband and he showed me things and treated me in ways I didnt even have on my "hypothetical" list. Some people are able to find their partners at a young age and others later in life. The best way for me to put this in perspective for you would be as of today, as of right now, this moment, if this is as good as it is ever going to get, are you happy and content with your relationship. Or do you feel like something is missing? I thought I met my husband when I was 17, we had issue but I knew we "loved" eachother but I had this feeling deep down something was missing from my life. And turns out I was right. I had to wait a while and worry I made a mistake but it was the best choice.
