changing from the pill to the bar?

two days ago i got the implanon contraceptive bar inserted after being on the levlen pill for about a year. the doc actually never mentioned how to transition and it completely slipped my mind to ask. 
do i just stop taking the pill immediately or do i keep taking it for the week up until the bar is supposed to kick in?’

Nexplanon willvtake a week to protect you. Its really up to you if you want to keep taking the pills.

Stop taking the pill and use a back up method is what I’d do but I’d also call and ask the doc.
