Teachers! Need help, FMLA question
I have a meeting with HR in an hour to go over this very question but wanted to see others’ experiences. I’m due one week before the end of the school year. Even if she comes on time, there will be 7 school days left in the year. According to all of the research I’ve done, specifically on the FMLA federal document, my district can’t use summer as my 12 weeks because I “would not be otherwise working”, correct? My union person is male and not much help in this area. I printed the FMLA document where it specifically cites summer vacation for teachers not counting but I’m still worried they will try to use that as my FMLA time.
Any experiences with this??? It’s a federal program so the rules can’t be bent by my district, right? They aren’t the most family supporting district. TIA!😊
