5 week fetal pole 8 week gestational &yolk sac

Hi everyone!

I had my first prenatal appt last Thursday. According to my dates, I was supposed to be 7 weeks and 5 days. On the ultrasound, the tech found a 5 week 5 day fetal pole (no heartbeat) and my gestational sac and yolk sac were both measuring at 8 weeks. The US tech was very sorry and told me that she would be praying for us as if it were a loss. My OB was very hopeful and rescheduled an ultrasound for the following week to check for a heartbeat. If no heartbeat, she said we would talk about options to miscarry or go forward with d&c. I have a history of some prolonged cycles and late ovulation within a cycle. I’m trying to remain positive and hopeful! Anyone with a similar story?
