Road trip tips?

So in a month we are driving out to Texas from California to visit my brother and sister in law  who just had their baby boy a week ago. I just need some tips on how to survive this trip with 1 & 2 yr old and 17 weeks pregnant? The furthest we’ve ever taken them in the car was 8 hrs. That was rough, but flying just isn’t an option this time around.

Pack lots of snacks, books and if you have a portable DVD player take that. 
We like to travel at night with ours so they sleep as much of the time as possible, we will leave the house an hour after their bedtime so they are really tired... 
Make stops every two hours or less and let them run around like crazy things. Those closed in vending areas at rest stops are awesome for it but, I’m not sure what the rest stops are like out west.

Omg you’re so brave! Are you sure you want to do this trip? I’m just saying this because it’s so hard on the little ones. I went on a 6 hr road trip (was only suppose to be 3.5 hrs but traffic was bad) with my 7 month old and I felt so bad. I vowed never to do that again and think about her first. I will never drive for a long road trip at night with baby in the car because I think it’s dangerous and I’m such a worry wart about something happening. Not to scare you, but good luck and be safe!

Travelling at night or leaving very very early in the morning. It buys you time anyway. Not sure how long your drive will be though.
