Having a baby in the car?

I'm only 23 weeks but I still feel a little worried about when my water breaks. Me and my boyfriend have a 55 minute drive to the hospital where we are having our little boy at.. I'm worried that what if I have him in the car? Like what would I have to do? If I'm at work and my water breaks it will take him 15 mins to get to my work and then from my work about an hour to get to the hospital! I'm just a little freaked out. Anyone else think about this?

I know you’re stressed, but here are some facts to help ease your mind. First time labor is RARELY quick. Usually it’s multiple hours. (It can happen that it’s quick, which is why I didn’t say never.) Your water only breaks on its own in about 15% of pregnancies. Your water breaking is also not necessarily a sign that your baby is about to pop out. Many women who’s water breaks outside the hospital haven’t even started having contractions. Doctor’s usually like to deliver the baby within 24 hours due to the possibility of infection. You will have plenty of time to get to the hospital when your labor starts. There’s more of a chance of your water not breaking than breaking.

Only about 15% of pregnant women experience their water breaking before labor. Mine broke with my first and I literally took my time... I showered, packed up my things and we drove to the hospital, which is about 30 minutes from my house. I’d say by the time we got there at least an hour and half went by. My contractions weren’t that bad and didn’t have my baby girl until 15+ hours later. Usually you have plenty of time with your first, but you never know.

If this is your first pregnancy, it's HIGHLY unlikely even if your water does break that you won't make it to the hospital in time. You're fine.

My water broke naturally and I didnt give birth until 16 hours later! The likelihood of you having your baby in your car is so so slim

Lol I’d almost prefer to deliver in the car because after having 35 and 19 hour labors, at least it will have meant it went fast for once 😂

With my 1st I drove myself to the hospital, but I was 5 min away. Now with my 2nd I'm about an hour away and have a c-section scheduled, but I'm not too worried since my 1st labor was 13 hrs then a c-section.
It most likely won't go as fast as you're thinking.

Google emergency delivery kits and keep items in your car.  Watch YouTube videos.  And your boyfriend would call 911 and they'd send an ambulance to your location.   It's very unlikely, especially if this is your first.  I'm worried about this, but I had a fast first labor and I have to worry about the logistics of getting someone to watch my toddler too.
