So my almost 20 month old is in his 3rd time of experiencing unusually cold skin. The 1st time I took him to the hospital freaking out and they said as long as he is overall healthy and it's not a reoccurring thing, everything should be fine. That day I had also given him benadryl twice for an allergic reaction he had earlier that day. The 2nd time I don't recall, but it was weeks later. Now, 3 and a half months after the 1st time, it's happening again. The 1st night it was in the 95s/96s area. The 2nd time I don't remember. This time his rectal temperature was 98.2 last night, 97.2 earlier in the day. My apartment can get kind of cold, and he is low to the ground...it's just not the norm so it scares me. On top of his cheeks being cold last night while he was asleep, so was his chest and back at different points. He has been very congested lately, it's finally loosening up in the last week or so but prior to that it was just stuck in there it seemed like. We were in a family member's place and he turned somewhat red, to where he had a red mark on his hairline that appeared to be similar to a birth mark but I don't know what it is. Any who, I'm battling Postpartum Anxiety/OCD and am trying not to let it get the best of me so just wanted to know of any suggestions, experiences or resources that would be helpful before we talk to the doctor about it.
