When does milk come in after a C section ?

This is my first baby, and I have no clue what to expect. So if we go for a planned C section , when does the milk come in? And what will the baby drink till the milk comes in? Thank you

You already have colostrum, which is all baby needs for the first few days. Your milk should come in between day 3-5. Here’s a picture explaining how little your baby actually needs to eat the first few days!

I wish I could remember when my milk came in with my first but with my second they had me pumping at the hospital because I was breastfeeding and supplementing and my milk came in before I left the hospital. Wish I didn’t pump though because now I’m dealing with a bit of an oversupply 😅

Mine came in within 3 days. I started eating lactation bars in the hospital. At first you have colostrum. It’s hard to tell but as long as you breastfeed they get it (tummy is extremely small) and it triggers you to produce. Just stick with it!
