Buy a few packs of newborn but not many as a lot of babies don't use them very long. Get gift receipts for every pack of diapers you buy so you can exchange them if you don't need them and buy different brands because you have no idea what brands will w9rk best for baby. Also try buying a pack or two every paycheck. That's what my husband and I have been doing.

Dont stuck pile diapers thatll just put you with to many or some you cant use

Get different brands and tape the receipts to them. You never know what will/won’t work for your baby.  My first daughter used pampers swaddlers, second had a horrid allergic reaction to them.

Id just put money aside labeled "baby needs fund". Contribute till baby is born.
They move through sizes so quickly in the beginning that you'll end up with too many size 1s or something.   
Plus i think we pay roughly $25 a month on diapers and wipes. Which really isn't that big of an expense. You might not really notice the diaper bill too much.   It will be nice to have that little bit of cash put aside for the needs that sneak up on you.

We got two cases of size two and three, and a case of wipes. We're gonna get two more wipes and two cases of fours. Then we have a diaper fund for nb and ones because you never know how long they'll be in those sizes

Buy a pack every pay check..
Check Facebook Marketplace for people selling the brand you'd like to use, sometimes they go pretty cheap because the pack has been open, but only a few taken out.
