Pet stores

Me

I’ve always had pets and normally would get them from Petsmart. The one by me used to require customers to have at least some knowledge on the animal they planned on getting and would ask questions to make sure they had the right equipment and if you didn’t they wouldn’t sell anything to you. I thought this was great since there are so many people that get pets and don’t properly care for them or they get their kids animals that end up neglected. I started thinking about this after going to Petco and overhearing a family talking about getting hermit crabs and didn’t even know what to get for them. What really upset me is the fact that they ended up getting chameleons instead which are high maintenance and harder to care for. They didn’t know anything about them at all but the employee let them have the poor babies. Do you think that pet stores should vet their customers better in order to keep their animals from getting in the wrong hands?
