So I got my IUD a little over 8 months ago and I have pretty much still gotten my period pretty regularly some a little longer some a little shorter only one or two months with none or just spotting but this month I have been bleeding for 31 days and it’s not letting up. It’s not just spotting either. Some days it is a little lighter and one day it was just brown discharge but every other day it has been full on bleeding. There was only 16 days between this period and the last one too. My last period was a little long too (10 days) but defiantly not 31+. A couple months ago I went to go get it checked and they couldn’t find the string but they did an ultrasound and they had just cut the string way to short but said so far it’s still in place (or was several months ago). I know abnormal bleeding is “normal” with the IUD but I feel like this is a little excessive... any thoughts?
