I never used condoms when I was on birth control. But I also only had sex with my boyfriend. No pregnancy scares or anything. Birth control pills also have a higher typical use effectiveness than condoms. 
But if it gives you more peace of mind, there’s no problem in using a condom. And if you’re sleeping with more than one person or even just one person that you’re not exclusive with, you should use condoms.

Depends on how much you care about preventing pregnancy and STIs.
With Perfect use, birth control pills are about 99% effective (one in 100 will still get pregnant in a year's time). With typical use, that goes down to about 90% effective.
To me, having a kid before I was ready was a very serious thing so I used 2 forms of birth control.
