Planning for a NICU baby! đź’™

Well... I figured I’d post a little update for everyone that’s following our story. Yesterday we were seen at the Colorado Fetal Care Center for a consult. My day started at 5:45 with the LONGEST drive ever to Denver. Once there I had my fetal MRI, Level III Ultrasound, and Fetal echocardiogram. After all of my imaging was reviewed I sat down with a whole panel of radiologists, maternal/fetal doctors, pediatric surgeons, and a genetic counselor. Our sweet sweet little boy was diagnosed with duodenal atresia (essentially a gastrointestinal obstruction). This will require surgery immediately after birth and my little guy will be in the NICU for a month or longer while they slowly allow his stomach and bladder to return to normal size before introducing breast milk. After all of the imaging, this seems to be the only current issue & everything is otherwise perfect! Right now we’re just hoping and praying that we can make it full term, but with the way this dilated bowel is growing, we may be looking at a delivery sooner rather than later... we are VERY nervous to see what is in store for us and we’re trying our best to stay strong through all of this! Our sweet little guy is such a fighter already! If everyone could keep us in your thoughts and prayers, we’d greatly appreciate it! 💙💙💙
