My daughter Chloe is 9 years old. She was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome at 18 months old. Chloe was not born with this disease (it’s not genetic in her case) but developed it later on. They do not know what causes children to develop this disease.

Chloe has the strain Minimal Change Disease. MCD Nephrotic Syndrome is a kidney disorder that causes the body to excrete too much protein in the urine. This disease at times causes Chloe's entire body to have severe swelling especially in the abdomen and around the eyes. Chloe is a patient at Riley's Children's Hospital (in Indianapolis) where she sees a kidney specialist once a month. There is no cure for Nephrotic Syndrome. There is a chance the disease can be outgrown when children reach puberty, but that’s not always the case and can continue into adulthood. Chloe has done many medications and treatments to try and help kidney function (and to avoid dialysis & kidney transplant). Even children with Chloe’s same disease who have received dialysis and transplants have been known to retreat back to the abnormal kidney function.

Chloe has currently been in remission since September 2018! We pray it stays this way! In the past Chloe has required lengthy hospital stays and tons of blood work. Along with really harsh medications, never being med free since she was 18 months old to now. She has always been on a low sodium diet and when relapsing a 32oz fluid restriction daily. But we got the best news!!

A foundation (I’m not allowed to put the name) is sending Chloe to Hawaii October 7th-12th 2019. They will cover only expenses for her immediate family, but Chloe wants her grandpa (John) and her uncle (Braxton, he’s 12) to be able to join her on this trip of a life time. She is such a grandpa's girl, it would mean the world to her if they could go with her. John is currently working 2 jobs and lots of over time to try and save enough money for the trip! He (and Braxton) have been our rock through this whole journey! Her Paca has been a very hard working great example of a man for us both!

If you would like to donate or want more info message me and I can send you the link. My baby has been through so much and deserves this trip! I am so beyond happy for her and I can’t wait to see her get her dream or traveling to Hawaii!

If there are any other mama’s of sick kiddos msg me I would love to be friends and give you some support! It is so hard to see your baby go through something you can’t save them from!

Hopefully we continue to get good news on Chloe’s condition and keep her in remission so she has better chances to outgrown this ugly disease! I will keep everyone updated! If you have any questions on medications or treatments that have seemed to be helpful with Chloe’s condition just ask! Keep her in your thoughts and prayers!

Last night Chloé earned her first belt in Taekwondo! 🥋🥰 I’m so proud to be this girl’s mama!
