Need help! Any medical advice🙏🏽
I’m really sorry this post is bloody long but I’ve nowhere else to turn and I need to give as much info as possible to get help and tried to shorten it! Please read to the end 🙏🏽
My baby girl is 13 weeks old she was in hospital at 3 weeks with Bronchiolitis where she had to get all the gunk sucked out her nose and on oxygen, she’s never been the same since she was back in hospital at 11 weeks with Bronchiolitis again having to get the gunk removed from her nose and tube fed the doctors told us that it was viral and we just had to ride it out and she’d get over it in her own time.
She has a really bad cough to the point that at night she chokes herself, runny nose, diarrhoea and is sick quite a lot (varying between projectile and dribbles of sick) up until today she didn’t have a temperature and shes been VERY sleepy for about 3 days now sleeping more than she usually does but the most concerning thing for my partner and I is that she used to take 4/5oz of Aptamil every 4 hours now we can barely get her to take 2oz every 3 hours! Our health visitor came yesterday and she seemed to be very concerned & said she would consult the GP to figure out what we can do to try get her better as this has been going on for most of her 13 week life!! Today the HV phoned me and said to buy Anti-reflux Aptamil to see if that helps her sickness as she might have reflux but then she also prescribed her with Nutramigen which is a milk for babies that are lactose intolerant and said if the anti reflux milk doesn’t help her sickness then she’s lactose intolerant. 😔 So I’m thinking okay at least someone is trying to help us here with her feeding so I messaged one of my best friends who’s a paediatric nurse (and also cared for my daughter in hospital) to let her know what was happening and she basically replied NO SHE IS NOT LACTOSE INTOLERANT HV BARELY INOW WHAT THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT!! ... and then went on a big rant. Now at the end of the day I’m a cardiologist receptionist I have no fucking clue about paediatrics I do have an older son but he was perfectly fine with no health issues how am I supposed to know what is right here and how do I help my daughter? All I want is for my daughter to stop chocking in the middle of the night with coughing and to eat normally. Has anyone else been through something similar or know what I can do? I’m now at the point where today I’ve just sat and cried because I feel useless as a mother that I can’t care for my child because I don’t know what’s wrong with her 🥺💔 can anyone help as I don’t know what to do anymore😔
Thank you for reading to the end. Pictures of my gorgeous baby girl while she was in hospital @ 11wks ❤️
