Is washing your baby's clothes before they wear them a must? Why or why not?

Store bought clothes have chemicals, dust, and other nastiness on them. You don’t know who touched them before you, how they were handled, where they were stored, etc 🤢 then once they get older you never know how many other people tried them on before your kid, and if they were clean or not... it’s just a lot of NOPE for me. 
I always wash all clothes before wearing them, for myself and for my family.

No i did with my first and then i relised it doesnt hurt them. They only time i washed clothes first is if they were given to me used. Store bought i dont bother with and my kids are perfect and healthy nothing happened to them from not washing them first

It’s not a must but a good idea! You don’t know if your baby is super sensitive to chemicals or not or how many people have touched it.  I always washed clothes when baby was super young def got a little more chill about it after 6 months!

Some brands in particular use strong chemicals to make them colour fast at the end of processing, as well as things to make them look good at the end of their journey. There are (extremely rare) cases of babies getting burns from clothes that haven't been washed from the factory.
You can smell the ammonia in new Bonds clothes. I wash everything before wearing for myself and my family. It's actually often recommended by the manufacturers but they don't put it on the label

I’ve washed all of my babies clothes before he’s born ready for him, I don’t like the thought of who might have touched them while in the shop! Think about how many clothes you pick up in a shop before you decide what one you want to buy, then think of how many other people would have done the same thing xx
