Children, TTV and YouTube...

I over heard a discussion between my brother and his friend (they are loud you can not not hear them). Anyways they were talking about my 9 year cousin hitting his 100th subscriber on YouTube for twitch and how proud my brother was of him (my brother had been his guardian since he was a baby); my brothers friend on the other hand said he doesn’t think kids under the age of 16 should be allowed to make a channel because of pedophiles and if they do they should be shut down.

My brother says he doesn’t see an issue with it because in his words “the offender isn’t gonna jump in their car, drive to Washington just to get to him”. But my cousin does lives videos too so it’s doesn’t take much for offenders to get what they want. He came in and asked me what I thought of it and I said “Braydens asked me before and I said no for my own reasons mostly because he’s 5”

My brother yelled at me and said “yea so let’s stop kids from doing what they want because of pedophiles”. I told him I don’t care what other parents let their kids do, I have my own to worry about.

Did you or would you let you child make their own TTV (twitch tv) or YouTube channels? Also how do you feel about kids having YouTube channels?.
