Do you think dispensaries should require your ID and your medical card both not expired?

I only ask because I work at a dispensary and everyone was fine with it until this lady who her ID was expired by a month and we couldn’t let her in due to the policy that was given to us. She complained that it shouldn’t matter  if her licensed is expired as long as she has her medical card that’s not expired that she should be good. It was rare we ran into those cases but I’m just curious on y’alls opinion and I haven’t seen a topic like this I looked it up just in case someone would say it’ll get deleted.

A valid ID is necessary, in my opinion. Unless a medical card has a photo of the person. Anyone can take a prescription and say “yep that’s my name. I’m that person.”

You need a valid ID. The won’t let you buy alcohol even if your license is a day expired. It’s just the law, verifies who are are and age. It’s legal where I live so no medical card necessary but ID is always necessary.

I also work in the cannabis industry and my husband is an owner of a dispensary here in town. They'd never let someone in with an expired ID, can you drive with one? No. Can you purchase tobacco or alcohol? No. So why would cannabis be any different? There are laws and regulations for a reason. Any dispensary doing so needs to be shut down as they are continuing horrible stereo types and ruining it for the people are arent finding loop holes in the law.

I think there should be a form of identification to back up the card, wheter it be ID, Social, or birth certificate- and the midical card should have a photo.

nope. if you don’t have a valid drivers license, how do i know i can legally sell you this? yes you have a medical card but still. some people will even deny you entry to clubs or bars or deny serving of alcohol if your ID is expired. she needs to get her panties out of her ass and renew her license

I mean logically it’s obvious she is of age, and if her medical card isn’t expired but matches her ID I’m quite sure her government info hasn’t changed just because the ID is expired. 
Tbh the same thing happened to me and it was so incredibly frustrating. My if was expired by a DAY! A single DAY! Thank got for street dealers 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

The dispensaries in my area require both. Then after the first visit, only some will let you get by with just the medical ID.
