Spotting at almost 5 weeks- is this normal?

After suffering a MC a few years ago, and not even knowing until the MC was happening that I was pregnant, seeing the faint positive line two days ago when AF was due was shocking... now I’ve had cramping the last few days and this is the first spotting I’m seeing.. should I be heading to the doctor tonight?

Some spotting and cramping in early pregnancy can be normal. Many people think implantation bleeding only occurs during implantation, but it can actually occur a while after as it can be trapped inside! I learned that with my last pregnancy as it was trapped. They told me not to panic if I saw some bleeding because it would either leak out at some point, or reabsorb. Just monitor and be sure to bring it up when you see your doc to be safe.
