Possibly pregnant?

So I’m 15 days late which isn’t unusual for me but my nipples have been so sore, to the point I can’t even hug my husband without severe pain. I took a test a few days after my missed period and light spotting, but was negative. I’ve also been cramping like my period is going to start any second but never does... I have PCOS and have been told pregnancy may not show up on a home test. Is this true? Anyone else experience that? I just don’t want to get let down yet again
