Changing baskets?

Question

Does anyone use changing baskets over just a changing pad? I love the look of them, but are they easy to use or slide around? Debating on if the look alone is worth it

I think it would be super difficult to keep clean. Diaper changes don’t always go smoothly - and it would be really tough to get poo out of the wicker and pee could leak and/or stain. 
We opted to get a foam changing pad so it’s super easy to clean and sanitize. It won’t be as pretty as this one - but more practical!

I will be getting one!! Who cares about being practical with every piece of baby equipment?! Sometimes you just want things to look cute/nice. I say go for it!

The other commenters make super good points. Also, I still use ours at 17m and I think it would be difficult to change a 17 month old in it. Unfortunately, cuteness doesn't always equal practicality. Haha

I have an olliella changing basket and we love it! I didnt buy the pad tho so we just use a muslin swaddle. super easy to throw in the wash

I still use our changing pad at 19 months because it’s the only place that my son will lay still for me, but he’s very long and he’s definitely outgrown the length of his foam pad. I can still make it work on the foam, but it would be very difficult to use a basket like this instead. Plus, as others mentioned, wicker is much harder to clean than a regular changing pad.

My little guy refused to sleep in his beautiful bassinet so I ended up placing it on top of his draws as a changing basket. It’s never gotten dirty. It’s not the traditional changing basket but I still love it!

I’m a sucker for pretty things but go for a normal changing pad. I had so many times where I had poop everywhere that I cannot imagine that thing being remotely practical.

Baby would grow out of it too quickly. And it would be hard to clean.

Won't look nice long if you actually use it to change the baby, and not just for decoration.
I am imagining trying to clean newborn poop out of the basket material while the baby cries. Definitely not a good buy.
Maybe you can find a gorgeous basket to put on top of the dresser for small items, or a basket you love for stuffed animals on the floor. And then get something waterproof and easily washable for the area that's going to get frequently exposed to pee and poop.

If you have a boy good luck getting pee out of the wicker lol. It is super cute looking though and as far as worrying about it slipping around you could just get the gripper things people out under rugs.
