Switching doctors in third trimester

Basically, I live in bumble fuck nowhere and our nearest full size hospital it over an hour away which makes it hard to get to my monthly appointments as I work full time. I have a smaller hospital closer that focuses on maternity and most woman in my town go there, which is where I’ve been going since I found out I was pregnant. I really like my obstetrician and midwife and the personal, intimate vibe of the whole place. However I recently found out about a terrifying case of negligence on the doctors behalf that resulted in a really horrific death of a new born baby.

So naturally I’m switching to the bigger hospital. it’s all lined up and ready to go but I’m so nervous about suddenly changing health care providers so late on. I’ve had a super stock standard, text book pregnancy so I guess there’s not much to report but I’m still nervous. Ultimately the safety of my baby comes first hence the decision but idk. Anyone changed doctors this late on? I’m really keen to know your experience
