I had my tubes tied unwillingly (I’ll explain) in 2016. Now my dh and I are wanting another baby.
Info/opinions and prices on getting tubes untied or/and IVF.
Explanation: I had my daughter in October 2015, well when I had her my dr told me my uterus almost ruptured and if I had another baby it could kill me but he didn’t tie my tubes so he put me in bc and told me to schedule to have my tubes tied. Fast forward January 2016 I found out that I was pregnant. I went to a different doctor closer to where I lived at the time and I told him what the previous dr had told me and he told me I could carry the baby I’d just be high risk, he only seen patients to 12 weeks because he didn’t do delivery’s anymore as he was retiring in 5 months. So at 12 weeks he sent me to another OB/Gyn which was fine. I updated them and we went from there. Well there I signed the papers to have my tubes tied after I delivered my son due to my uterus rupture. Well at my 39 week check up we scheduled my c-section for the next day. The dr told me she needed to get my records for my daughters birth so I signed the papers for release and she went to get them sent to her and asked me to come back to the office in an hour. So I did and when I get there she sits me down and tells me that there is NOTHING in my record that says anything about my uterus rupturing, she said all that it said was my uterus was thin when they opened me up to do my c-section which was also at 39 weeks, she said so my uterus should have been thin it was preparing for delivery. So I go home and tell my husband and together we decided since it was normal and we knew we wanted more kids down the line not to get my tubes tied. Ok well next day I go to the hospital get prepared for surgery and an then takin to the OR there I finally see my dr and I told her that I had changed my mind that I did NOT want my tubes tied because we wonted more kids later down the road. She said ok. Ok so surgery is started (I had to be completely put to sleep due to I could feel them cutting even after spinal block was done 2 times) so when I wake up she tells me my delivery AND tubal were a success. I told her that I just said NOT to tie my tubes and she informs me that since I signed the paper she could do it if she wanted to and that I had already had 5 c-sections so I wasn’t allowed to have another. I have spoke with 3 obgyns since then and have been told I can have as many as I want to UNTIL it is medically necessary that I don’t.
So yeah. Now needing good opinions on next steps to having a baby.
