Cloth diapers?

I’m one of those minimal waste kind of gals, but... 
I’m having trouble deciding on if I want to do cloth nappies or not. 
They seem like they’re better for both the environment and the wallet. But what about my mental state of being? 
I mean let’s face it. Poop is gross. And cloth diapers have to washed.
Does anyone else here think they’re worth it?

My sister has used them for 2 of her 3 kids and she LOVES them. She’s never had an issue with the poop aspect and she’s pretty sensitive to that stuff. She also gets used ones from Facebook marketplace to save a little money. I know, it sounds gross, but she only gets ones in good shape and not stained. I plan to use them when my little one gets here as well. Way more economical and better for the environment!

I always planned to use cloth nappies, the hospital required you to have a pack of disposable initially. Within a couple of days my boy had a rash starting. Once I got home and into a routine I started using the cloth nappies and the nappy rash went away so quickly! He finds them more comfortable also :) worth the extra laundry just knowing he's in comfort.

I love cloth diapering! I thought I'd be grossed out, but it's honestly not a big deal. Just a couple extra loads of laundry a week. I highly recommend joining a Facebook group like Cloth Diaper Wash & Care and getting a good wash routine if you do move forward. That was the biggest hurdle, just doing the research and figuring out how to wash them. But now it's easy, and they're so cute on top of all the environmental perks!

My biggest issue with cloth diapers has been the leaking. They need to be changed more often than disposables, and I’ve never found a brand that works overnight for my heavy wetter. They definitely create more work and when I did it before I didn’t have a sink in my laundry room, so it wasn’t ideal. As far as dealing with poop it hasn’t changed my routine too much because I always flush poop down the toilet anyway with our disposables since it cuts the smell down and poop is not meant to go into landfills. 
I’ll be trying it again for baby #2 and I’ll be using Best Bottoms cloth diaper shells with inserts.

Yes 100% worth it ! Disposables last 200-500 years in landfill which is utterly gross and each baby uses on average 4000! I’m planning on using cloth from day 1 as my friends have done it and they have assured me it was fine. And who doesn’t love a colourful bum ? ☺️
