Help with reusable water bottles. Are there any you recommend?

I’m embarrassed to say I drink one use plastic water bottles. My family all drinks them. I want to use a reusable bottle instead, but they always start making the water taste weird. Does anyone else experience this? Are there any that you recommend that don’t make the water taste weird? How do you wash yours too? I bought a tumbler type of cut to drink water out of at home and I put a smoothie in it and now that’s all I can taste when I drink water out of it.
