Anyone else?

So, my 5 year old son is super into Ryan's World (much to our dismay--just when I thought there was no more obnoxious kid's show than Barney). So anyway, this little boy worked hard on his chores and did an exceptional job. He got paid his 50 cent allowance every week, and saved it up for months. Today, he bought a Ryan's World mystery egg for $4 that was supposed to contain some kind of squishy character. We got home and he opened it...and the thing was empty. The egg was still sealed, it had to actually be opened, yet there was nothing in it. His poor heart was absolutely crushed. He worked so hard to earn the money for that, which he spent 8 weeks' worth of allowance on, and it was empty. What in wondering is, has anyone else had this happen with these? It doesn't seem like it was supposed to be that way, the packaging showed that there was supposed to be a character inside, and there was plastic packaging meant to protect an item in shipping, but nothing inside the packaging. Obviously, we'll be going back to Target, because I wouldn't pay $4 for an empty Easter egg when I can get a pack of 20 empty Easter eggs at the dollar store for only $1; so I'm not about to let anyone rip off my child like that. (To be clear, I'm not blaming this on Target, as it seems to be a manufacturer error). I just wanted to see if anyone else had this experience, and maybe get an idea of if it would be likely to happen again if he got a new egg. He was really looking forward to that egg, so I'm sure he'll want to just trade for a new one if possible. At very least, I hope they'll give him his money back. I feel like that's essentially theft, to charge 8 weeks worth of earnings for a package of air. If someone stole 8 weeks worth of an adult's wages, that would be considered larceny. So if the manufacturer has intentionally made some of these eggs empty on purpose, then I call BS. And if it was just a fluke, I hope they know about it.
