Weak Pelvic Floor while Running 🏃🏼‍♀️

I posted this in “pregnancy and exercise” but this might be a better place to post this since I’m no longer pregnant.

I’m 4 months PP and have just started getting back into running consistently. (Hubby bought me a BOB running stroller for Mother’s Day!)

Anyway, when I start my run I’m okay, but once I get about half a mile to a mile in, I feel like I have to pee. I’m not sure if I’m actually leaking any urine, but sometimes it feels like it. It’s really annoying and has made it even more difficult to continue my runs. I usually stop around 2 miles bc the force of hitting my foot on the ground makes me feel pressure down there and like I have to pee really really bad.

My question is: have any of you dealt with this before? If so, did you just work through it until it got better or is this something I should be really concerned about. I know that there’s pelvic floor exercises you can do but if I’m being honest with myself I’ll probably never do them unless it becomes a “do this or you can never run again” rule situation. Lol. I’d like to just work through it and hope I can make my pelvic floor stronger from just running.
