Contractions ??

How can you tell your having real contractions. I need a real answer instead of “oh you’ll know” because on the monitor at the dr office Iv been having contractions but sometimes I didn’t feel anything so please help a girl out

You can have early contractions and not know or be unsure if it’s BH. They can gradually build up and turn into period like cramps. These will then progress into active labor and you won’t be able to do anything other then focus on what is happening by that stage.

It’s a sharp mentrual cramp. Wraps around your lower back and abdomen than slowly creeps up all of your uterus and makes it super hard. A Braxton Hicks can feel very similar but if u have to stop in your tracks and breathe through it than it’s a legit contraction.

Most times the practice ones go away with fluids and rest. Real contractions continue to get stronger and closer together. The one issue I had with my first pregnancy was the fact that I had back labor and didn’t even know I was in actual labor. I thought I just had a backache.

Most seem to know... I was one of those who actually didn’t. I was in active labor and had no clue until they hooked me up to a machine. I had gone in because my water broke, turned out I was having very strong regular contractions and wasn’t feeling anything. I eventually did but it was mostly all the drugs the put me on to induce me and even then they botched my epidural so I felt the whole thing. I didn’t start getting the “can’t talk” contractions until I was ready to push. Everyone is different and it’s all kinda a guessing game tbh..
