When is the best time to tell everyone I’m pregnant?

According to this app I’m 7 weeks pregnant 🤰 and we are trying to decide when to tell family, we have told a few close friends but no family.
How long did everyone else wait before making it public?

I told my mum straight away at 5 weeks but friends and work I waited till 12 weeks. I’m 20 weeks now and haven’t yet put it on any socials. Just do what feels right for you! Congratulations ❤️❤️

My husband and I are personally waiting until we know the gender. Only because we lost our baby back in August of 2018. We just don’t want to publicly announce it until further down the road and until we know the gender this go around. But if you’re fine with letting everyone know the POTENTIAL bad news then go for it! I wasn’t a bit ashamed to announce our loss shortly after we announced the pregnancy.

I tell everyone I’m close to at 3 weeks with my positive test. I don’t go on Facebook so I don’t announce. I’ve had 2 losses and I’d rather have support than suffer alone. I’ve also come to terms with the fact that there is no “true safe zone”. yes Mc rates drop after 12 weeks but unfortunately bad things can still happen after that. tell people when you are comfortable :)

At 12 weeks the risk of miscarriage reduces dramatically! That’s why people wait.. but I told my mom and sister as soon as I found out I was too excited and I was about 7 weeks!

I’ve only told a few close friends and a couple of my siblings and my mom. I’m 14 weeks today. We’re planning on telling our daughter and the rest of our family next weeks on Mother’s Day. I won’t be making a social media post. I had 4 miscarriages the past year and a half and it hurt every time I saw one so I decided not to do one.

I told my best friend and family when we found out my best friend told everyone and I ended up having an ectopic so quiet traumatic. My next pregnancy id only tell family till 12 weeks!

For myself and my fiancé, we announced after we had the dating ultrasound that confirmed the baby, and we saw the heartbeat.
For our first baby (a girl), we announced at 6 weeks. 
For our second baby (another girl, I’m currently 24.5 weeks along), we announced at 8 weeks because we found out during the holidays which delayed things.
Yes, we announced early, but we are open people and don’t like keeping secrets. I also heal better by talking to people about what I’m going through. So IF I ever suffer a miscarriage, I would want to be honest and open about it as they are so common.

Generally 12 weeks is considered “safe” to tell people. I had a miscarriage before 12 weeks and was glad I had only told close family. It was exhausting and would’ve been terrible to have to explain to a lot of people. If you wouldn’t mind sharing that experience you can let people know earlier. (And of course it’s not highly likely that would happen, just something to consider)

With my daughter, everyone knew by 8 weeks. We waited until I was 14 weeks with this baby but that was only because my husband was away for a month beforehand and we wanted to wait until he was home to call family together and take the announcement picture with our daughter together.

I had to move back in with immediate family so they found out about 11 weeks.  Not really anyone else knows and I'm now 18 weeks *shrugs* in saying that I'm normally a private person. I think you should tell them when you feel comfortable and ready to tell them :)
