Do receiving blankets work as swaddles?

I got a ton of receiving blankets at my baby shower but absolutely no swaddles, is there a difference? Can you swaddle your baby with a receiving blanket? Please don’t judge I’m a first time mom and I’m learning along the way, baby will be here in less than 6 weeks!

Yes. I never used actual swaddles and only used receiving blankets. This is how I used them. and when my daughter got a little bigger I just folded it tighter so her arms would be more snug since her legs were too long to fit.

If receiving blanket is like a cellular blanket then yes you can swaddle baby with these as they breathable.😊

Once my girl got to big for swaddle use I started using them as burp cloths. Worked out great for us

Yes but my only concern would be it coming loose and coving the baby’s face with the SIDS risk and all. I don’t mean to scare you I’m just sharing my thoughts. Personally I loved the swaddles and I think they are definitely worth the money 😊

Yes, but it is worth the money to buy a few swaddles. They make things easier when baby is wiggling and you're trying to be quick
