Is it safe to take allergy medication while pregnant. I’m an allergy sufferer and let me tell you i am suffering right about now!!!!! I haven’t slept all night because of this torture.

I have bad skin allergies that began when I got pregnant. My OB and dermatologist both told me to take Zyrtec as that is safe while pregnant. My dermatologist said Allegra can have some negative impacts on the placenta, so she said stay away from that one. But Zyrtec and Benadryl are fine.

There are versions of Sudafed that are safe in pregnancy. Most doctors give you a list at the beginning of your pregnancy that tells you what is safe and what isn’t. You can also ask the pharmacist. Ivehad to take it while pregnant.  It isn’t regular Sudafed, but w specific kind.
