Would you buy it?

If you saw I posted a poll about which car I should get between a 12 year old Ford Taurus and a 15 year old Toyota Avalon. The ford got sold so now I’ve only got the Toyota (yes I can look for other cars)

It’s 15 years old and it’s in good shape. He originally wanted $4,000 and we got him to lower it to $3,000 but when we test drove it my moms friend heard an issue with one of the ball bearings. He took it in and they ended up telling him it was something that it wasn’t so he spent $1,000 fixing the brakes and shocks etc. he then raised it back to $4,000. But then the noise didn’t go away so he took it to another place and they found an issue with the ball bearings so he raised it to $4,500 but I got him to lower it to $4,250.

The car has been taken amazing care of. I’ve been told (by people on here too) that Toyota’s last a while. It has 150,000 miles on it and ik that’s a lot. So would you go for it or look for another one?

*** he didn’t know there was an issue until my moms friend pointed it out. And he fixed the issue. There’s now nothing wrong with the car

My moms budget is under $5,000 and it’s my first car. She doesn’t want to get me an amazing car in fear that I will crash it. I’ve started looking on autotrader because my friend (he’s older than me and an adult and has a lot of experience with cars) recommended it.
