Diaper pail?

I’ve heard mixed reviews so I’m just curious

I used one with my first but gave it away. They smell way worse than just putting the diapers in the trash.

I’m expecting my fourth baby boy and have never gotten one or wanted one, extra expense and extra garbage you don’t need! And to empty that long ass smelly thing of diapers once it’s full 🤮! I usually have a small trash can at changing table and take it out at end of day or next morning.

I'm getting one cuz I have a dog that would unfortunately decide he needed a snack If I didn't 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮 and we don't have to take out the trash but like once a week.

I like a small trash bin that opens when you step on it (or a motion sense one, if you wanna get fancy). I also keep a small amount of baking soda sprinkled at the bottom of the trash to make sure odors don’t escape into the room. Diaper pails are an extra expense and one more thing to remember to buy at the grocery store and I’ve never run across one that was really good.

My sister never used a diaper pail and my brother and his wife decided to try out the diaper genie. The diaper genies smell so bad. Like if you open it once it’s even half way full, the whole room smells like dirty diapers for a few minutes. 😬 you would be better off double bagging them with like grocery bags or even pet poop bags. I know they make little bags specifically for diapers but I’m pretty sure the pet ones are cheaper. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was also on the fence so I found a diaper genie for $10 and decided I’m willing to gamble on the product for that price lol.

We cloth diaper and just use a regular garbage with a foot pedal and a cloth pail liner.  We don’t have smell problems 🤷🏻‍♀️

Baby’s staying in our room, and I am very sensitive to bad smells, so I did a ton of research and opted for a Munchkin diaper pail. Seems to hold the smell in better than any of them. But I think it all just depends on your needs!
