Just dont eat slimy lunchmeat. There are, understandably, an over abundance of caution of do's and dont's in pregnancy but with this just eat the fresh lunch meat that you normally would.

No, you "shouldn't" if you're doing everything 100% by the book. There are three health risks with lunchmeat:
1. A single slice of deli meat comes from multiple sources, not the same animal. Therefore if any of those sources have an issue, the meat is contaminated. You increase your exposure when eating a slice of deli meal compared to, say, a ham roast.
2. Cured meats such as ham, pastrami, bologna, etc. have a lot of nitrates in them, which are not great for your health or the baby's.
3. Slicing equipment at the deli can be difficult to clean and sanitize well, and has an increased risk that it might harbor bacteria.
All of these risks are relatively minimal, it's up to you and your care provider to decide what's best for your situation.

honestly my dr said to use good judgment...he wouldnt recommend buying the cheapest deli meats out there but eating a name brand would be fine and within moderation
