couldn’t see the gender at anatomy scan?

So i went between 18-19 weeks for my anatomy scan. All they said about gender was “i think it looks like a boy” but we didn’t get any pictures, or a confirmation. so what now? am i out of luck or do you think they will do another to confirm? my next prenatal appointment isn’t until the beginning of june so i really didn’t want to wait that long

If they measured everything else without issue they won’t do another scan. Gender is only “fun” and so some doctors don’t care if they get a clear picture of what it is. You might have to pay for a private scan to learn gender.

You’ll have to pay for a private scan or wait and see if you end up with another scan.  I was told “possibly a girl but don’t paint the nursery” at 20 weeks with my first and it wasn’t confirmed until another scan at 34 weeks.  I only had that later scan because of preeclampsia.  They’d have to make up an excuse for insurance though to do another one and that would technically be considered fraud so they probably won’t.

We couldn’t find out our gender at our anatomy scan due to babies legs being crossed and too much movement. Tech was able to get all necessary measurements so they would not do another scan just for gender. 
We ended up paying for a private 3D scan a few days later and found out the gender then.
