Spectra or Medela?

Sooo I’ve had a lot of mixed feelings! Everyone on every page I’ve posted this says the spectra! However I’ve always had my eye on the medela since it seems easier for on the go.. does anyone have any opinions on this especially for a working mom that’s always busy??

I got the medela through my insurance. I had medela with my first two, I hear great things about the medela and spectra. Go to a store that carries both and look at them and see what one you like. I see more things for medela in Target so it’s easy to find. Not sure about spectra.

I have the medela in style and the ameda finesse. The medela is sooooo much better for me :) the ameda does well, but not as great so it’s my backup Incase the medela ever goes out.

My son was a premmie so I exclusively pumped for months with him. We had a spectra, which I loved!

I've had both the Medela & Spectra. Both worked fabulously. They both had the same noise level (different noises though), same power, same suction. The only difference to me was the night light & the handle on the Spectra were a nice added benefit. But you will not go wrong with either 👌🏻

Ive had medela and Spectra pumps and prefer Spectra. Medela pumps are painful to me and I think it’s because the speed and suction don’t have separate controls so if you increase, you increase both. Spectra also has a closed system so there isn’t a chance of milk contaminating your pump. I’ve exclusively pumped for 3 babies now and have used Spectra for my last 2 because I liked it so much better!

I had a Medela with my first (I paid for it because my insurance only covered manual pumps - this was 6, almost 7 years ago). I loved the convenience of it and that I can get extra supplies for it extremely easily. But I wasn’t impressed with the suction itself. It seemed like it was either not enough suction or too much and hurt. I struggled a great deal with pumping because I could never find a setting that seemed to be effective.
I get a free pump with my insurance now and will be trying the Spectra. I still have my Medela I can go back to but I’ve heard so many good things about Spectra’s suction i figured I’d give it a shot since that was my complaint the first time.

I loved my spectra. It was so easy to use and hospital grade. Has a little nightlight on it too.
