Hi ladies! Just after some advice if we have any Aussie’s on here as I’m guessing this would be different from country to country. I am wanting to try for a VBAC next pregnancy and am thinking about hiring a private midwife as I don’t think the birth centre will accept me due to possibly being high risk. I will try that first but want a back up. My question is, I know you have to pay for the hospital admission and stay out of pocket if you have a private midwife as technically you’re being admitted under her care as a private patient in a public hospital, but what happens if you end up needing an emergency c sec? Do you also pay for that out of pocket? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
