If I ate waffles 4 hours before a glucose test would it still effect the results ???

Omg don’t do it! My bff had a piece of toast and oj before her one hour glucose test and failed it, but passed her 3 hour.

My midwife said no food so I would assume any would skew the results no matter how slightly.

My OB said no carbs or sugars before. She prefers I fast but said I could have water and cheese if I need something small lol

My doctor told me not to eat anything high in sugar before the test. I definitely wouldn't do waffles

Not sure. I just read another post about glucose testing and everyone's doctors told them different things. I have mine tomorrow and they told me not to eat for 4 hours before hand.

Yes it will you not supposed to eat nothing the night before or that morning

Yes I was told not to eat any kind of sugar the morning of the test so I guess it’ll just be plain oatmeal for me lol

It's loaded with sugar that will build up in your system on top of the sugar they will give you. You're more likely to fail the test now. Mine told me to eat protein only and no more carbs/sugar than a slice of toast at the most.

Like the 1 hour glucose challenge? That’ll be fine. If the 3 hour test then yes because you’re supposed to fast. 
If you mean just taking your own blood sugar then possibly- it should come back down after 2 hours but waffles are extremely high in carbs (plus I’m sure there was fruit or syrup which are both sugar) - both of which can spike your blood glucose.
